Why Kigali, Rwanda?

With over 1.5 million residents, Kigali is the largest city in Rwanda and a central hub for the nation. The land for this project is being provided through a unique partnership with the local military, who will also participate in training and play. This prime location will give thousands of Rwandans access to disc golf for the first time, while also creating opportunities for youth clinics, tournaments, and long-term community impact.

About This Project

Project 5.4 will bring Rwanda’s first permanent disc golf course to Kigali Forest, just 5.9 kilometers south of downtown Kigali. This 18-hole course, supported by Gold Sponsor Ledgestone and partners including the PDGA and Disc Golf Uganda, will feature concrete tee pads, baskets, and signage. Installation is scheduled for November 2025, led locally by Project Driver Emmanuel Bahizi with guidance from Disc Golf Uganda’s Israel Muwanguzi, ensuring the creation of a sustainable disc golf community in Rwanda. The course will be officially designed by Avery Jenkins.
