The Paul McBeth Foundation (PMF) today announced its first project for 2026—bringing disc golf to the Dominican Republic for the very first time. In partnership with Dynamic Discs, BLUE Missions, and the PDGA, PMF will build three different courses in Santiago de los Caballeros—the second largest city in the Dominican Republic.

“Disc golf is growing rapidly around the world and we’re seeing incredible momentum throughout Latin America” said PMF Executive Director Zachary Smith. “We recently witnessed the first-ever Latin America Disc Golf Championships in Guatemala, and that energy helped confirm what we already believed—this region is ready for the sport. We’re excited to take the next step by introducing disc golf to the Dominican Republic.”

Working closely with BLUE Missions, whose work focuses on providing access to safe drinking water throughout the country, the project will span multiple locations designed to reach diverse audiences.

“We’re building a nine-hole course in Parque Central de Santiago, one of the most visited public spaces in the city,” said Danny Rodriguez of BLUE Missions. “In addition, we’re installing two courses at Universidad ISA—a nine-hole course near the student dormitories and a three-hole introductory course near the university entrance.”

The newly approved course in Parque Central de Santiago will be visible to more than 4,000 daily park visitors, offering a highly accessible recreational option for a city of approximately 770,000 residents. Together, the three courses will introduce disc golf to students, families, and community members who may have never encountered the sport before.

Course design and installation will be led by ChainLink Disc Golf, a Canadian disc golf company, with installation planned for Spring 2026.

PMF’s work in the Dominican Republic builds on the foundation’s growing presence across Latin America. The organization’s first international project was installed in La Paz, Mexico—a country with deep personal significance to founder Paul McBeth, who has strong family ties there. Dynamic Discs, the Gold Sponsor of Project 6.1, will support the installation by providing blue Veteran baskets, making them the first permanent disc golf baskets in the country.

With Universidad ISA’s presence and partnerships extending into other Latin American countries, PMF hopes this project will serve as a catalyst for continued growth throughout the region.

“Disc golf is such a great equalizer,” Smith added. “It’s affordable, easy to learn, and welcoming to people of all ages and backgrounds. We’ve seen how it creates opportunity across the 5 continents we’ve worked in, and now young people in the Dominican Republic will have the chance to discover a sport that simply wasn’t available to them before. That’s what makes this work so meaningful.”
