About This Project:

A Paul McBeth Foundation team will travel to Zambia to install two disc golf courses in Ndola & Kasama, Zambia. These courses will both be built on school grounds in partnership with an educational non-profit organization. In Ndola, the land available will accommodate 5 disc golf baskets, but the team will design a course in which 9 holes will be able to be played by the schoolkids and surrounding community. In Kasama, a 9 hole course will be installed which will also have the ability to be expanded to 18 holes in the coming years.

Baskets will be built in-country which helps alleviate many of the challenges that come when working in most parts of Africa.

Why These Communities?

Ranking as the 3rd and 9th largest cities in Zambia, Ndola and Kasama are over 8 and 16 hours of drivetime away from the only established disc golf courses in Zambia. Partnering with the PDGA Country Coordinator, Wilborn Munkombwe, disc golf is set to reach new heights in this country. The need for more accessible disc golf courses in not just Zambia, but for Africa as a whole, creates a great opportunity for our organization to provide disc golf experiences to communities who wouldn’t otherwise have access. Additionally, providing a great recreational opportunity for children makes this project even more intriguing as this opportunity can lead to future world champions.
