Project: Ukraine

Project Partners

Project Overview

Project 5.2 brings the Paul McBeth Foundation to Ukraine for the first time with the installation of a full 18-hole disc golf course in Pidhaichyky Park. With equipment including tee pads, baskets, and signage, this will be the first complete disc golf course in the country—a milestone moment for the sport in Ukraine. The project is being developed in partnership with Mission 823, a non-profit that serves at-risk and traumatized youth. Through this partnership, PMF aims to provide a meaningful recreational outlet that promotes healing, play, and community connection. Local leadership from both Ukraine and the U.S. will work together to bring this project to life, with installation expected in late summer or early fall 2025.

Why This Location

Pidhaichyky, a small town of 3,000 located just 10 miles from a larger population center of over 60,000, offers an ideal environment for introducing disc golf to a new audience. Situated in the southeastern part of Ukraine, far from the current conflict zone, it provides a safe and stable region to support long-term impact. The involvement of Mission 823 brings an established youth-focused network into the project, ensuring the course will serve not just as a public amenity, but as a tool for community development and outreach. With only four other disc golf courses in Ukraine—all lacking basic infrastructure like pads and signage—this project represents a vital next step in growing the sport throughout Eastern Europe.
