About this Project
In 2023, a Paul McBeth Foundation team traveled to Zambia to install two disc golf courses in the cities of Ndola and Kasama. Both were built on school grounds in partnership with an educational non-profit organization.

In Ndola, limited space allowed for five baskets, but the team designed a layout that plays as nine holes for students and the surrounding community. In Kasama, we installed a full 9-hole course with room to expand to 18 holes in the future. All baskets were built in-country to reduce the logistical challenges that often come with working in many parts of Africa.

Why These Communities?
Ndola and Kasama are Zambia’s 3rd and 9th largest cities, located more than eight and sixteen hours, respectively, from the country’s only established disc golf courses. Partnering with PDGA Country Coordinator Wilborn Munkombwe, we brought the sport to new regions of Zambia, creating opportunities for communities that previously had no access to disc golf. Installing these courses on school grounds ensures that local children can play, develop their skills, and potentially grow into future champions.
