Why Dar es Salaam?
As Tanzania’s leading academic institution, the University of Dar es Salaam sits in a city of more than 5 million residents. Its central location offers a unique opportunity to introduce disc golf to students and the broader community. The course fosters recreational access, promotes healthy lifestyles, and lays the groundwork for the sport’s growth in Tanzania and the surrounding region.

About this Project
In 2025, the Paul McBeth Foundation installed Tanzania’s first disc golf course at the University of Dar es Salaam. The 18-hole layout includes both long and short tee pads, making it welcoming for beginners while still challenging for experienced players. PMF partnered with Project Driver Israel Muwanguzi from Uganda, who mentored Geofrey Rucho in basket building and installation, creating local expertise that can support future course development across East Africa.
