Disc Golf Camden

About this Project:

Our second project in the United States was located in Camden, New Jersey, where we worked with the Salvation Army-owned Camden Kroc Center. The mission of the Camden Kroc Center is to serve as a beacon of hope and an agent of change, a place where opportunity meets potential. A major part of this mission includes providing high level recreational facilities and programs to communities who would not have access to these things otherwise.

The Paul McBeth Foundation installed a 9-hole course on the Kroc Center’s 24-acre property that is accessible to both program participants and the neighboring community. The Kroc Center is already doing a tremendous job serving youth and families in Camden, and the addition of disc golf gives them one more resource to provide to the surrounding area.

Why Camden?

Though many PMF projects are international in scope, as an organization we are also committed to providing access to disc golf for youth and families in major cities throughout the United States.

Part of the reason there are so few courses within city limits or closer to major metro areas is the lack of available green space. By working with the Camden Kroc Center we were able to not only find space for the course, but also work with an organization that is already committed to providing recreational outlets for youth in their community. This project offers an excellent opportunity to introduce disc golf to an entire region with very limited exposure to the sport.
